Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Guiana Shield, Orinoquia. Elevation range: 200–646 m a.s.l. Cultivated in Colombia. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Amazonas, Arauca, Caquetá, Casanare, Guainía, Guaviare, Meta, Putumayo, Vaupés, Vichada.

Conservation
